The AlCan, especially the Ft. Nelson Wildlife Preserve & nearby, is rife with wildlife. We saw fox, baby bear (2!), many bison, corralled horses, and some sort of sheep or deer. Bald eagles maybe some hawks, and other creatures great and small (crickets. mosquitoes). I hope we can get some pictures online later.
Essentially our entire trip so far has been in the Boreal Forest, the globe-encircling series of ecosystems that supports northern species. Mostly spruce and birch trees, with some tiaga tundra and lots of bodies of water. Spectacular views of mountain ranges. Wow!
