Name: Asa
Aliases: Hasa
DOB: 2001?
DOD: Feb. 17, 2010
Breed: American Husky
Acquired: From my neighbor’s yard.
About: Asa is one of two dogs that was left in my neighbor’s yard. Supposedly Asa and Nutok (the other dog) were to be given to a touring company. The neighbor left town, called us from the road, and asked if we could take care of Asa and Nutok until the touring people could pick them up. No one ever called. Asa is actually Higgs’ brother. They look and act very much alike!
Bad Habits: Difficult to catch when he’s running around the yard.
Likes:
~To run around the yard with his brothers and sisters
~His brother Higgs and girlfriend Nutok

Epilogue: Asa was an incredibly hard working sled dog. He loved to run in team or wheel with his brother Higgs, and on occasion was known to lead. He loved to play in the yard with Higgs and with his girlfriends Nutok and Pumpkin. Together, we’d call Asa and Higgs “Hasa,” and say silly things like, “You can’t have an Asa without a Higgs. You can’t have a Higgs without an Asa.” We joked that together their brains made up one dog (not true, Asa was very smart). In the spring, Asa and Higgs would spend weeks trying to figure out how to escape the dog yard, and then eventually they would! Asa loved to run up and down the street.
He was an all around good guy, great sled dog, and a buddy to his brother Higgs, his main girl (Nutok) and his mom (Ilana). It’s a shame to loose him at such a young age.
