We’re a small family-run kennel. For a Sled Dog Tour, we have the capacity to take two guests at a time. Each client is paired with an experienced guide.
We can take large groups (15-20 people). Each guest can expect to spend about 20-30 minutes on the sled, along with ample time to meet, cuddle, and spend time with the dogs. Please email us at stinkypup@gmail.com for info about large group rates.
Please don’t bring children under 11 years old. Children over 10 can sit in the sled with you.
If you feel comfortable, and conditions are right, you’ll be able to drive the sled and mush a team of dogs while your guide sits in the sled.
Dog sledding is very physical! You will need to be able to jump around and sometimes push the sled and run with the dogs :)
We have some gear to loan, but if you have your own to bring, that would be great. Clothing to bring/wear includes:
- Non-cotton long underwear tops/bottoms (we can supply this if needed)
- A fleece top/bottom (we can supply this if needed)
- 1-2 pairs of wool or non-cotton socks (we can supply this if needed)
- A warm jacket (we can supply this if needed)
- Snow pants (we can supply this if needed)
- Snow boots (we may be able to supply this, depending on foot size)
- A warm hat (we can supply this if needed)
- A balaclava (we can supply this if needed)
- Warm gloves/mittens (we can supply this if needed)
Yes! If you need a lift from Whitehorse, we can pick you up and drop you off. There is a $ 50 charge.
If you’re staying at the Cabin at Lake Laberge on Deep Creek Road, there’s a $15 charge.
Our road is challenging in the winter. If you have 4-wheel drive and are experienced at winter driving, you should be fine. Otherwise, we can make arrangements to pick you up in town, or at the highway.
