Ilana had a hernia operation on Wednesday November 10. She had had growing pain for over a month, and after finally seeing her general practitioner (scheduling was the hard part!), got to see a surgeon. A week or so later, she got the surgery, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital’s spiffy outpatient surgery.
FMH was really quite organized and efficient. Everything was on-time, completely explained, and friendly. When Ilana needed stronger meds the day after, the doctor (or PA) provided a new prescription.
Two weeks later, Ilana is nearly off the meds, though still not able to walk far or do much. In short, she is following King Neptune’s prescription, to be a couch potato!
