Sam is still missing. Yesterday Greg and I walked the four mile loop with Frankie. Frankie wasn't too interested in going. I walked Melan S. at 1am and then around the trails to the east of my house. No Sam. At this point, I'm not too hopeful that she'll return.

My condolences on your loss. But I'm glad the universe conspired to provide the people and places and "stuff" to make it work out.

Simba is recovering nicely. We've moved him outside. He's eating and pooping and is back to his goofball self.

I wondered what happened! At least this time the dogs didn't come home one at a time without you. Glad you weren't too frozen

Rattles' foot is healing nicely. He finally has started putting weight on his leg and using his foot. The vet showed us ex-rays of his front feet. Even for a lay person like me, I could see in the ex-ray how all the bones in the trapped foot were crooked.

UPDATE: For the several of you who have asked....Chester and Sam came back home a couple of days after they took off. Chester took off again and when to his "first" home. But he's been back for a while and hasn't went on a major expedition by himself. We've been keeping him busy by taking him mushing. He ran 33 miles yesterday!

If you'd like to give some stinky pups a bath with WARM water, we have a hose that runs hot and cold water both here at Daisy Acres. I also have some livestock soap that works really well, smells good, and rinses out easily!

Or, you could bring your stinky pup to the Petco Grooming Salon and do it yourself, or pay us big bucks to do it for you.

I'm really glad you are my neighbor. I hope I get to see you out on the trails this winter.

Being the "concerned citizen" referenced above, I congratulate you on your tenacity and compassion. Kudos to your husband, too, for his patience. I suppose if the animals had to be abandoned, Two Rivers could not be a better place. Lots of us dog lovers. I only regret having a full household and no room for more dogs (or cats). Surely some kind folks will take them off your hands when the time is right. Anyone who sees the the pups will fall in love immediately. Good luck!

Hi crazy kid. We are at Caren's and she says try rescue lab america. They might even pay for shipping.
Vic, her lab, was chosen by a family in Lake Placid (the previous family returned him because he was to big)
We are going to Jayme's third memorial service tonight. Bob flew up with the two sisters.\

We are leaving tomorrow. Your father had to show us how to log in. We thought it was to complicated.
