Last Friday I noticed a big gash on the big pad of Nikki’s front left paw pad. She either stepped on something sharp on the trail or in the dog yard. She ended up getting eight stitches (hot pink thread) and is off the team for at least ten days. She’s on Cephlex for 7-10 days and has to wear a bootie on her foot to keep the stitches dry. We’re lucky she isn’t a bootie eater.
Nikki is one of our super-duper lead dogs and really wants to run, so she is quite bummed that she has to be on bed rest.
