Serum Run 2009

I’ve heard from the Serum Run organizers that Heather and I have been selected to participate in the 2009 Serum Run. The Serum Run route runs from Nenana to Nome (around 770 miles). Part of the route is the same as the Iditarod trail. Unlike the Iditarod and the Yukon Quest, the Serum Run isn’t a race. Mushers are paired with a snow machine partner. Mileage per day varies with around 25 miles for a short day and 65 for a long day, and the number of days in the field will be between 18-20. Stay tuned for updates!
Oh– Heather is the snow machiner and I’m the musher :)
If you’d like to donate to the adventure, here are some items we’ll need:
- Hand Warmers
- Patagonia Heavyweight Glove Liners (size XS (ilana) & M (heather))
- Dog Coats (Colors: Pink, Red, Blue, Black. Sizes: 1 Small, 5 Medium, 1 Large)
- Dog Booties (Medium and Large– we’ll need a lot of booties!)
